Searching for stories of positive change in Detroit in the midst of the economic crisis initially seemed to be a rather optimistic endeavor. Most news from the region speaks of the economic decline, crime, racial segregation, a pandemic of foreclosures, and downright poverty. However, once you scratch the surface, you find people who are still doing well despite the crisis, some who have changed their lives for better, and most importantly, those who are dedicated to the city and determined not to leave.
